History
Our history may only date back to the birth of Novus in 2017, but it's a great short story with some fantastic milestones to date.
2017
Novus founded
Novus founded by Philip Wood and David Bearman with the aim of providing an alternative to traditional markets for a range of Warranty & Affinity Product business. Panel of ‘A’ rated Capacity partners established.
2018
First risks bound
With the business set up, our first risks were bound in 2018. The start of our journey.
2019
Diversification
Greater diversification of products within the portfolio now becoming apparent, with our traditional Motor Warranty dominated book being complemented with other classes of business.
2020
Growth
Achieved considerable growth of our UK Book, thanks in part to our long-standing London Market Broker relationships.
2021
Novus Underwriting Europe
Post Brexit – the establishment of Novus Underwriting Europe BV, based out of Brussels. In addition, a Novus Office was opened in Hong Kong.
2022
New Faces
Following a significant recruitment drive, new underwriters, underwriting analysts, underwriting technicians and a claims manager joined the team. Novus is now managing GWP in excess of $200M per annum, across 42 countries globally.
